Barrhead’s Most Experienced Pharmacy Turns 63

What if You Could Honestly Say, “My Family Pharmacy Actually Makes Me Feel Special Everyday!”?

The magic of our team is the heart and soul of Fyfe’s Friendly Pharmacy. It’s about being part of a family that is working together for the better service of our community… to function at this higher level it is only possible by having a close connection with people that drive our business–You our client and the Fyfe’s family of employees.

To be true we added the VIP Smart Shopper Club Five Years ago. The intention of this club is to reward our clients: who are the heroes of why Fyfe’s Friendly Pharmacy still thrives today. We will be more active on this website so that you can get to know us better and we can get to know you at an even higher level. I am so excited about encouraging this two-way dialogue outside our four existing walls.

People may think we are crazy but we still think there’s a place for a small independently owned store that is focused on enriching the families of our community.

Today is an exciting time as new dynamics unfold — a new model will evolve. Please enjoy this website and I encourage you to make comments.

Collin Grant is one of the owners along with his wife/pharmacist Lorraine at Fyfe’s Friendly Pharmacy… a member of Apple Drugs & founder of VIP Smart Shopper Club.

How To Start Your Day Right

This FREE Access Promises To Uplift You Everyday

If I where to call you early in the morning, waking you up, (Yes, that early) then proceeded to rip a strip off you… I mean I let you have it. Up one side of you then the other.

How would you feel? How would the rest of your day be?

Or… I called you first thing and told you how great you are. I’m so lucky to know you and then proceed to tell you to have a day full of joy because you are such a good person.

Now how would you feel? How would the rest of your day be? Which way would you like to start your day?

Exactly, what better way to start your day than with an uplifted mood?

Life has a bad habit of draining you, depressing you and often adding more worry. We are surrounded by a world in doom and gloom. Trying to drag you down.

Ever wonder how some people can stay so positive with so much energy despite all that is happening around them. My wife’s grandma was that way. She was on her deathbed, in enormous pain as her heart was failing her for a third time. Drs said no to more open-heart surgeries.

Well, we would go see her and the first words out of her mouth where, “How’s your family doing?” She was so encouraging. She would never talk about herself it was always about you, the other people in the room and how blessed she was to have you there. You left feeling like someone had this magic wand and kaboom you experience a sensation like someone just gave you the greatest gift in the world. You would never have guessed she was having a bad day. Everyday was like that for her and she lived to a very old age, into her late 80’s. What a great person and I was fortunate enough to be blessed to meet her.

Let’s get something straight – I’m no psychic but I have stumbled onto a little secret. After talking to, reading about and researching the people who live a positive life full of happiness, love and in good health they all understand a very powerful principle. They recognize that you usually become what you feed your mind. You become what you study most.

For many they start their day reading, listening or watching the news. Wow! Ever heard the saying bad news sells? So you start the day with all this bad stuff going right into your psychic, FIRST THING. Don’t get me wrong. Knowing what’s going on is a good thing. But wouldn’t you agree, if you start your day with bad, depressing news like our original example above you would have a good chance of being depressed for a better part of the day.

It doesn’t have to be this way. I challenge you to take a test. Start your day reading something positive and see how you feel inside.

We all need someone in our corner to start our day with some encouragement.

I happened to meet another person who shares the same feelings for others like my wife’s grandma, his name is, Patrick MacBride. After talking with him he shared with me what he’s doing that has changed so many lives. He writes every morning short blessings and emails them out to friends. He calls them Sundrops On Life, God willing, to inspire and motivate and occasionally to amuse you. You get one every weekday morning.

So with his permission he has allowed me to share this with you. You can be on his email list. I don’t know how long he will be doing this for FREE but if you’re at all interested I would act now and get them sent to you every day.

You must agree this is a pretty cool idea. I know this could help a lot of people… and I thought of you right away.

Patricks story: People have always said a lot about me, ever since I was born. My problem was that I believed ALL of them. The fact that only some were true didn’t dawn on me until much later in life. If someone said something good about me – I felt good. If someone said something terrible about me – I felt terrible. Compounding all of this was my own ability to generate negative thoughts from what I had seen or read or heard. I was a mess. I went off to college figuring that I would get away from myself, but I took myself with me.

One very dark night I decided to end my life because I thought of myself as a failure. Having convinced myself that I was a failure, I, of course, failed at taking my life. After a couple of days in the hospital it suddenly hit me like a thunderclap – whatever I thought about governed my life. I was successfully creating from my thoughts. It just wasn’t what I wanted. What a revelation! I wanted to shout it to the world, yell it from the rooftops. Then I found out that some very wise people have been shouting this for millenniums.

I embarked on a quest to learn as much as I could and to help as many people as I could. I threw myself into the study of theology and philosophy and psychology and meditation. I continued to make mistakes (more than my share!) but I was slowly learning that my thoughts created my happiness or lack thereof. I’ve been an altar boy and a rogue, a hippie and a U.S. Marine, a meditation teacher and a nightclub manager, a pompous ass and a humble fool, an eager husband twice and a grateful father five times and all the while I was growing and learning and trying to help others. It might not have always looked it, but I have been very blessed and fortunate – due in no small part to all of the mistakes I have made. I have been able to help a great many people. And I can help you.

One of the ways I help is by writing Sundrops on Life every weekday morning. They are three uplifting thoughts I compose that help many people start their day or turn their day around. Find a way to let an awareness of God back into your life. Start creating a spiritual toolbox so that you can repair whatever breaks.

An Open Invitation to Live and Learn!

Let’s get something straight right out the gate. I’m not some fuzzy-headed academic theorist, although many pretenders write blogs like this one; or some know-it-all who claims to be an expert because they have written a book on how to be the next success, or some fancy suit account manager who sits behind a desk and claims he is smarter than he really is.

I’m on the firing lines meeting payroll, battling bankers, and bureaucrats, struggling to satisfy tenant wants, solving real business problems, family issues and one of the toughest things we deal with on a daily basis is seeing families, great friends, clients whose lives get turned upside down overnight with health issues.

I have been written about in the Edmonton Journal, been published in many trade journals, been in board meetings making multi-million dollar decisions with the stroke of a pen and most proud to have helped kids across this great country become better people through sports and employing them. I have also advised more than 20 independent small business owners across Canada in direct business relationships. I want you to know this because I think it makes this blog more valuable to you.

Our number one umbrella business, that many of you already know, is our family run Pharmacy, Fyfe’s Friendly Pharmacy. Fyfe’s is 63 years young now and I’ve watched it for over 32 of those years. The educational value and the learning aspect from this business has been substantial. What many of you don’t know is that under this umbrella business, Fyfe’s Friendly Pharmacy, we have branched out into many other successful ventures. This has allowed me to be plugged into many other brilliant minds: people who walk the talk in their field of expertise… what’s amazing about all this is that I have access to insider expertise with the tap of a speed dial button on my cell.

Many of these people are business tycoons who are not on the Toronto Stock Exchange (though many could be) so aren’t looking for publicity of any kind but several have billion dollar companies.  I WILL share what I’ve learned from them. I also talk weekly to coaches of coaches (true leaders) in all sorts of sports, hockey, horsemanship, dog training and political arenas… most of these friends are helping kids and adults excel in life.

One close friend deals with life and death at work every day behind the scenes in criminal world and has real life experiences that will send chills down your back. I also have a friend who has coached at the highest levels of Canadian Hockey, women’s national teams; I have a personal friend who is a real estate educator, author of 2 national best-selling books and runs an organization of which has purchased over $3.0 Billion of real estate in Canada alone. Just to name a few of the people who I will be drawing information for the blog from.

We also have access to many of the inside information of our family enrichment centre, inspirational authors, family activities, trainers, latest releases of information and much, much more in this area.

The purpose of this blog is to share as much of the access of this outside wisdom with you on a more personal level. You will receive tips, strategies, skills, and get the inside of economic forecasts as I interview, receive postings and tap into a wealth of wisdom. Let’s learn together.

Another side to this blog is going to be dedicated to keeping things light, entertaining and upbeat. There’s just too much bad news out there. It’s time we had some “REAL FUN” and gain an experience that you’ll love.

I almost forgot about the best part… you. Please feel free to have two-way dialogue. I’m hoping through this blog we can get to know each other a lot better.

So please enjoy.
